No longer a baby

My littlest guy is now 3. Okay so it's been awhile since his birthday but.....

G'ma and G'pa Sanders came over the Sat before his birthday to give him a present. We didn't have a cake....but we had brownies. He didn't care, we plopped 3 candles in and it was the coolest thing to him. We even lit the candles twice for him, he LOVED it. He got 2 dinosaurs from them and they were a hit. one walks with a button and the other growls. He loves them both. In fact Sunday morning we couldn't fine the quieter one to take to church and it was very traumatic and we were late, still with no dino. He did survive though.

On his birthday I had an appointment so I met Tim and the kids at Mickydees for lunch after I was done. It is Porter's favorite place. Well anywhere with a burger. The kids even got kids meals WHAHOO. Porter was in heaven with his birthday burger! Then we had mac & cheese for dinner. His 2 favorite things. I wasn't complaining either, very little clean up with those 2 meals. He loved the candles and the songs. We all had such a good time playing and having fun. He didn't care too much about his cake yet so I did simple green frosting with some new dinos plopped on top and walla. He loved it! He also got a great ball with farm animals on it, one like the kind at schools. He didn't jump up and down over it but he'll love it. He did Love his new yightneen qween though, it's just his size to cart around the house, it also flips over as it's wound up to drive, pretty cool. Tucker was so mad that Porter didn't care about the flipping and wouldn't let him show him how to do it.

Frazzled and Dazzled

Today by 11:00 I was done! Abbey had her kindergarten check up this morning at 9:30 and we didn't leave until 11:00. Between Porter continuously shutting off the light in the exam room or escaping (he can't open doors at home yet but they had those easy handles) to Tucker reminding Abbey about the shots so she has a good 5 minutes to get worked up about them to Abbey taking 3 times to get a urine sample I was wiped out. There were moments of peace don't get me wrong. Porter enjoyed the book on tractors, but only once. They were just all bored out of their minds and neither of those boys like the unknown so they wanted to explore the whole office. It was uncharted territory that needed to be mapped out for future reference. On the up side I love this new office, they have 2 separate waiting rooms with their own entrances, one for sickies and one for well. I've heard of these but hadn't experienced it yet. So far I think they are a keeper. I really liked the Dr. too. We talked about Abbey's asthma and ideas for keeping it under control.
Since she had her last episode she has been on her meds every day and the difference in her is amazing. She is more full of life, funner to be around, more spunky (not always in a good way either). There are effects I could live with out, like the pinching of her brother, finally defending herself. But she is just so different it's like having the Abbey I always knew was in there but hadn't met yet. If that makes any sense. And the bet part she has been dry for 16 nights!!! For those of you who have never had a bedwetter this is AWESOME!!! We've tried getting rid of the pull-ups before and she'll do about 3-4 nights and then almost every night she'll have an accident and then after a week or so of that it's just not worth it for her or me. She just gets so sad about it, and who needs more laundry? Anyway that is a great perk.
I thought it was just me who noticed these differences but others have too. My aunt Sherrie was stunned when Abbey came and just talked to her out of the blue and told her a story up one side and down the other. She did the same thing with my cousin Shannon using her arms and all sorts of expressions (Shannon re-enacted it for me, pretty funny I must say). They were in shock. Usually when we have a big get together Abbey is very quiet and shy and whiny to me. She clings on me and ignores everyone who tries to talk to her, oh and the world is out to get her too. It isn't very fun, let me tell you. The last 2 we've had since her new meds have been amazing. It's fun to see everyone "meet" Abbey LOL.
I almost fogot the dazzled part. Tucker has been listening to me!!!! okay so maybe it isn't new but I'm trying sooooo hard to comment on it EVERYTIME he does. Poor kids gets noticed everytime he doesn't. And it's not so much that he doesn't listen he just has to argue about why to do whatever it is that has been asked of him. So today i asked him to do something and he said "okay" and did it. SHOCKED. So to reinforce even more I told Tim about it in front of Tucker. Tim said that it must be Larry and said nice to meet you Larry. Tucker laughed at him.
Porter on the other hand... Used up ALL of the syrup luckily on his plate. Dumped his milk on the kitchen floor, not spilled, dumped. (freshly mopped too) and to top it off played in the laundry soap like it was a sand box. THe plus side here is my laundry room which has been bugging me is now spotless, had to be done instead of somewhere on that list of things to do.
Okay so I know this was a boring post but hey this is the only place I'm good at journaling so take it or leave it. :P

Fun Friday Part 2 of 2

Porter was taking his own sweet time walking along and exploring as they all do. So Tim put him up on "shoulders" and came a runnin' I love that he can do that kind of thing with the kids again, they do to.

Tucker was a pro at getting up on the horse, didn't need any help at all, I missed getting a good picture of it he was so fast.

Abbey posing for a picture. That's her favorite thing these days. She wore her hair down that day and it stayed out of her face and she looked soooo grown up. Tim said just the other day "I'm not ready for Sprout to grow up" So if you know how to stop it let us know PLEASE!!! "THEY" say that our babies will grow up too fast and "THEY" are to right. I just pray I remember to enjoy them everyday!

Porter walked back to give the horse a nice pat and say good bye. It was so cute, glad my camera was ready and that the digital delay didn't ruin the capture. That little guy just keeps me smiling, even when I should be upset with him, his smile..... there is just something about his expressions.

This is what I call "time out"
I informed them that this should be the only time I see them in jail (well until we go back to the same place, but you know what I mean)

Tim showing the kids that letting the horse smell their hand lets the horse get to know them and remember them the next time they come to visit. Tucker jumped up to do it first as usuall. Abbey was a little apprehensive but not for long and Porter just loved it!!!

Here's Tucker jumping away from the CRAZY TURKEY. He walked up to the cage and made a gobbly sound that we had heard them all making and Mr. Turkey (who had not moved an inch since we arrived) Gobbled back like it was going out of style. He scared poor Tucker to death!!!!

couldn't resist these cool pics of peacocks. I know, not that exciting you say... but these things had their feathers up the entire time we saw them, (they kept showing us their back side) I finally got good pics when we went to the brick wall side and I peeked over the top. As Tim said "Island Princess" most of you with little girls will understand that one.

Fun Friday part 1

So this post is VERY late. This was Friday the 22nd.

Tim had to go into work later that night so he took the morning off. Perfect for a day at the Point. We had been meaning to get a season pass. First stop was the Dinosaurs. As we drove in the car all the kids were growing and playing dinos.
This is a very normal occurrence at our house these days. Porter is obsessed with Dinos and anything to do with them. As we walked into the building he was having a hard time looking at the big dino on the wall and walking at the same time. This is Tucker being a Raptor.
We have driven past that dino for the last year and you can see him from clear up the street and to see him in person was HUGE for Porter.

BEAUTIFUL
What happened to my "little" girl?

I wish this photo didn't turn out so grainy I love her face here.

I don't think he really noticed that everything was Dinos in there because they didn't have the skin on them.
All the kids loved the sand table....Even my BIGGEST kid if you know what I mean. Even I joined in after I had captured enough photos (are there ever really enough photos, I mean come on!)

Tucker loved to dam up the water, until the dam broke, he had a dam good time making all those dam's and I took all the dam pictures I wanted to take. (if you haven't seen Vegas Vacation that wasn't funny)

One little boy nearby heard Tucker say dam and I heard him whisper "we don't say that word it's bad" I chuckled to myself.

Abbey was into making the area esthetically pleasing with the placement of plants

And Porter was just happy if he could find a spot for his short little legs to get him tall enough to reach anything.

Here's Tim getting in on the fun, I love the look on his face.

My whole crew. UGH what happened to my babies.

Of course they were perfect for this shot and then the delay of the camera.... still cute, they are MINE.

So glad I got this picture of Tucker.

He is always so busy and off doing big kid things there aren't as many photos of him anymore.

I know that's normal but it's still sad in a way.

Abbey striking a pose. Again

Porter was so determined to climb right in this exhibit, Tim decided to help him out a little. It was no longer a cool idea to Porter after that.

Next was the sand area where they can "discover" bones. Tucker loved to direct everyone on doing it right, Abbey loved meeting new girls and Porter though the brushes were shovels and tried to use them as such, didn't exactly work out for him real well.

up coming post will show our the rest of our day, the farm animals

Swiming

I took the kids swiming last Thurs. (June19 I'm behind) we hadn't done ANYTHING all week due to my stupid incision spot acting up. Anyway Tucker got invited to go and I thought okay that's it all of us are going pain or not it will keep my mind off of it. We had a ball! Porter had fun exploring the water and was fearless!
He would keep walking and just put his head up in the air so the water wouldn't get in his mouth and then I would scoop him up and start over, kicking and screaming as I took him back to the shallow area. Well.... Tucker got a life jacket for him and he took off, I turned around and he was gone, when I got to him he was rolling around in the water. I've never been so horrified that I couldn't get to him fast enough. It was awful, needless to say that cured his fealessness and he wanted to go home. I did get him back in the water but he never did go much further than waist deep after that. I guess that is a good fear, as long as he is still willing to learn how to do the water someday. This is the only picture I got of Tucker since he was so busy playing with his friends.

And Abbey.... she is now loving to pose for the camera (if she's in the mood)

CHEESE!

A Flushing we will go

So our master bathroom toilet kept getting clogged. We tried and tried to plunger it but to make matters worse the toilet's inside isn't round so the water would just shoot back up as you pushed down the plunger. We even put the hose init and tried to flush what ever it was with a ton of water, didn't work. Well we started to suspect there was most likely a foreign object stuck somewhere with in the toilet. Porter is obsessed with watching the toilet flush and also enjoys watching things flush down it. (Not that he's interested in it's real purpose) So off the toilet came to see if we could find anything and this is what we saw.

So if you were wondering Kelly dolls don't go down the toilet. Abbey said and I can wash her.... NO WAY!!!! garbage is where that little dolly landed!

Dinner mmm mmm good

Abbey " We're having peanut butter and jellys for dinner, the turkey kind!"

Don't know if that sounds as good as she thinks, what she meant was turkey sandwiches but I had to write it down before I forgot that one!!!!

Princess Power

Last Friday I went to check on Abbey and her "girlfriends" and this is what I saw. 2 little girls with wings jumping while the other 2 watched, followed by Abbey announcing "okay fairies done now it's time for the princesses." It was priceless and the squeals of laughter? oh my! I think the pictures pretty much speak for themselves.

For now Porter still loves to dress up with Abbey and her friends

Babies

Here are some pics of my sisters' baby and my baby, I think I'm only able to call him that for 11 more days. He will be 3 on the 24th =( It's just doesn't seem possible to me! Daisy just turned one on the 11th, she's sooo cute, Porter enjoyed picking on her while we visited. I mean that literally, he was a stinker.
Porter was "racing" with Daisy in the first pic, can you tell he had stiff competition!

Hair-be-gone

So while I was up visiting family my nieces wanted to cut their hair off. One of them had enough for locks of love and the other just wanted too. So we did it! Abbey wanted her's cut too of course and since she's been asking on and off for awhile we went ahead and wacked it. They all looked so cute! We forgot to get a picture of all 3 together after it was done =( oh well. Here are the before and after pics.

I had to cut the back of Abbey's hair again the next morning. Her hair is soooo thick and she is 5. Not a good combination when you are trying to get a stacked look to lay nicely. It looks much better curled under that's for sure!

Skylee

Skylee spent the next few days constantly looking in the mirror and playing with her hair, it was cute to watch her.
