4-Wheeler (a lighter post than the last few) :)

YEAH for Tim!!!

Tim has had his 4-wheeler engine torn apart for sometime now. He was going to sell it “as is” but decided to give him and Tucker a project to work on together. Well that project had to get an extra kick start when we found we would be moving. He was close to finishing but that gave it a push to say the least. Anyway tada today it is up and running. Amazing to me that with a book checked out of the library he literally took the whole thing apart cleaned it all bought a few gaskets, a piston, borrowed some tools from Checker and Auto Zone and put it back together. And the best part is it started up. No more smoking like it used to and it ptptptpts sooo great (or at least he tells me it does) it sounds perfect! (again so he tells me) He may not be a brain surgeon but when it comes to the
mechanics of things he is great. I'm glad to have a fixer upper guy. I grew up with a fixer upper dad and wouldn't know life any other way. (although the stitches from our Sept. fix it project weren't that great) He now treats me like a little china doll when I help him after that experience.

I started out saying this was a "lighter" post well the pic has made it a not so light post. Oh wel that's waht you get with a rambling mind like mine. Hey I'm recording history here people.

For those of you who don't know last Sept. we were working on our Van and the brake rotor was stuck. Tim says he has NEVER seen a rotor stuck so badly. Anyway it wouldn't come off so we were using a tool that busted and hit me between the eyes and I got 7 stitches. All I remember is Tim saying come on we've got to get some towels. Okay I thought as I took off after him with my hand on my head (natural reaction) It wasn't until I was inside I realized there was blood all over and it was me. I laid down in the hallway where he kept checking on me to see if stopped bleeding. Which it took its own sweet time as head wounds do. I was resting with my eyes closed when he came and yelled at me. “What?” I said. (Sigh of relief from him) he thought I had passed out. I always knew he loved me but WHOAH was he ever worried about me. Not that he hasn’t been many other times in our marriage, but this was definitely different. I know that was mostly do to him feeling like he had done this to me. But that just isn't the case, we have always done projects like that together. I used to help my dad when I was little and for the most part usually enjoy it (unless it's cold and super dirty.) Anyway he tells me that my scar will always remind me that he loves me. I know you think how does that work? Well because I will know how worried he was about me that day. Unless we get a divorce than I will say “that *#@! Scar” But that is NEVER going to happen. Here’s a pic.
don't I look lovely? I wish I knew where the picture with it was just after they shot numbing stuff in it was, that one is hmmm how should I say extra special.

Germs

Our house is full of germs right now!!! We have that nasty virus going around that is "like the flu" but not the "flu." Or at least we think we do. We opted to just assume rather than pay someone to tell us and to infect more people. We are starting to feel slightly more human around here but are still quarantining ourselves so to speak. We are NOT going to share this with our ward tomorrow that is for sure! Tim stayed home for 2 1/2 days this week and all the days seem to blur together.

It was nice having all my family together on Thursday after Wednesday’s fiasco! Tucker slept ALL day (6 hours to be exact) but it was so nice to KNOW where he was and to be able to see him. I held it together pretty good on Wed. and I think that’s because Tim was with me until almost 8:45. And I talked to Tucker’s teacher and my friend talked to the bus driver. After talking to my friend whose kids were on the bus that got routed to the church Tucker had it pretty good. Those kids had a substitute driver who they didn’t know and didn’t know how to tell the police where he was located because he was unfamiliar with the area. And they didn’t know for quite sometime that their kids were still stuck on the bus because their phones weren’t working right and they kept losing cellular service. I’m sooo thankful I had contact with Tim and friends and our parents. And it was nice to talk to Tucker’s teacher too, she is the most amazing person! I love her to death she truly loves her students. I sent her a thank you email on Thursday and she responded saying she was up for 30 hours straight and would do it again because the little ones are so worth it! She said she did break down on Wed. (not in front of the kids) because she was so worried about the little ones still on the bus at 9:00. She also said she was personally going to walk all the kids to the bus on Friday in case any of them were having a hard time. She always goes beyond the call of duty.

Friday my little guy had a hard time going back to school, he tried to play sick. I believed him because Tim and I had been sick (this was before we knew about this nasty virus) he finally told me he was scared of riding the bus again. I understood completely, so we talked about how he had ridden it safely for over 100 days and the storm was just something that didn’t happen very often. “Yeah, once in a lifetime.” He said, wow isn’t he grown up to know that phrase

While I was having my nap on Thursday my sweet Visiting Teacher Sunny Jo brought over 2 pizzas for us. She had dropped by something on Wed for Valentines Day and saw me at my absolute WORSE and insisted she would have her hubby bring home pizza for us. Well... with the lovely weather, that didn't happen and our yummy papa Murphy's pizza were kept nice and cold inside his car until Thurs. What Sunny didn't know was that at one point on Wed. when I was laying there feeling like crap I thought I wish someone would bring us pizza. Can you say tender mercy? So thanks Sunny for being inspired! And the best part is none of us have had a big appetite so we only ate one the first night and now I have a dinner for yet another night, can't get better than that!

More snow pics

This is what our front steps looked like this morning, it's mostly from drifting snow.

Tucker is worn out, he's already on his second nap of the day and it's only 2:00.

HOME

My boys arrived home a little after 11:30 last night; Tucker was asleep again before we knew it. I got a phone call just after they arrived and by the time I went up to snuggle him in bed he was GONE, I don't think he even knew I was there. They finally decided to cancel school today, which is a good thing since our road has not even been plowed yet, not even the main road behind our house. Crazy snow! And to think this was supposed to be a little storm, well snow depth wise I think it was but the wind WHOA it did a number. Tim said they would not have made it with out his google maps and GPS on his phone they had a ton of people follow them through the back roads from the school. The guy he went with wants it on his phone now too. I hope Tucker will sleep in. Unfortunately for me Miss Abbey fell asleep last night at about 6 so we are up and about. But she is in a fabulously silly mood so that helps!

Several more buses remain stuck on the roads.2 hours, 21 minutes ago Read More Video [ 120 Comments ]
Tucker is on this news clip at minute marker 2:40 he is walking down the hall and then again you can see the back of his head a little later.
Isn't my boy handsome?!?!?!? Tim is with him right now poor kid is half asleep, he was sound asleep before Tim got there. They are trying to make their way home. Tim said the new GPS feature on his phone was awesome tonight helping them find a better way than the main crazy road to get to the boys. Tucker and his buddy Trey ride the bus together and are in the same class. Tim and Dave (Trey's dad) left at 8:45 to go get them, Tim called at 10:50 to say he had my boy with him. I got to talk to the graugy little man. He is staying home with me tomorrow!!!!! His teacher said school doesn't start until 11:00 but if they missed that is great they need their rest.

SNOW much fun! NOT

(this is a pic of our exit)

Storm forces students to stay at school, buses stuck on roads
February 13th,
2008 @ 6:58pm
(KSL News) Over 300 students from three elementary schools in
Utah County have been taken back to school this evening after their buses could
not get them home due to the storm.

Administrators at Fox Hollow
Elementary School, Ridgeline Elementary School and Harvest Elementary School say
the students are safe and warm and have food at the schools. The teachers and
administrators are there with them.

There are additional 10 buses full
of students from Harvest Elementary School, Ridgeline Elementary School and
Summit Elementary school that are stuck in the snow on S.R. 92 and S.R. 93.

Eyewitness News will bring you more information as it becomes available.

Well our little Tucker is one of the 10 busses stuck in route back to the school. He is STILL on his bus and it is 7:10 right now, they get out of school at 3:30. The bus driver said she made a privacy spot in the back and let those who needed to go pee in a trash can so they wouldn't have an accident. The road to the school is still closed so we don't know when we'll be able to go get them. It's awful not being able to get to your child. I'm sure that Tucker has everything under control and is helping the bus driver navigate. LOL It could be worse though, this is just a snow storm and not some crazy person. We will just look at it as a BIG ADVENTURE!

* Update, as of 8:15 he is finally at the school, he has eaten and is running around playing in the gym! Where we go from here who knows!

SNEAKY

So our cute little stinker of a 2-year old didn't want to go to bed tonight! He first came out needing his socks off. (he had gone to bed with them over the top of his jammies, silly boy!) Then I thought I heard someone coming down the stairs. I went around the corner and there he sat on the bottom step, with his hands over his eyes. I'm sure he thought he was invisible to any passersby. I ran back hoping he didn't see me and grabbed the camera. Upon my return this is what I caught! Who could resist that smile?!

The next 2 photos are recreated, I had to have them to scrap the cute story! if you are a scrapper you will understand, if not you will think I'm loony. Either way.

House

Many of you already know that we have to move out of our current rental, our landlords need to sell this place. So off on another new adventure! Here are some pics of our new digs. We are moving on Sat. March first so if you want....

Anniversary Eve

If I wasn't lazy I'd add a picture of our wedding, oh well I guess you know I'm lazy!

Tonight was our anniversary eve. Tim happened to get home from work early so we decided to go somewhere, where we weren't quite sure! We went to the mall and then decided to go out to eat to the Olive Garden, the 3 kids and all. We had a fabulous time!!!! We wouldn't have the 3 little ones if it hadn't been for tomorrow, after all. Well… at least I'd like to think we wouldn't! Anyway, I got a fabulous compliment from my hubby; he said my breadsticks were better than the Olive Gardens!!!!!!!!!! Can you get better than that! It was nice after the comment from Abbey this morning! (see previous post) LOL
The kids were very well behaved and Porter loved the food! He clapped and cheered when I gave him more salad. What 2 year old likes salad? And one with tangy vinegar dressing? Oh Well, he LOVED it. And then we gave him some of Tucke’rs alfredo and he cheered some more, he even announced to the waiter that he needed more! What a silly kid. However, he didn't want any chocolate dessert, how weird is that? Actually even the oldest kids didn't have much of the dessert, oh well, Tim and I enjoyed it!!! It was a fun night out as a family. I'm very thankful for the last GREAT 10 years, and look forward to many more!! It has flown by; I guess time does fly when you are having fun! And who better to have fun with than your BEST friend?

I do remember that 10 years ago it wasn't as snowy as this year!!! I had short sleeves on my wedding dress and I didn't even need a coat for pictures, no one had a coat on for the pictures. It was beautiful and sunny! It did start with flurries later at night but was absolutely perfect for the daytime!

Pretty

So this morning I'm doing my hair and Abbey says "that looks cute mom, you just look like someone who is pretty and not my mom" Okay now I feel like a 30 year old mom for sure!!!!! (I have to admit though it is a good hair day!)

Tucker's writing book

Tucker brought home his writing book from school yesturday. It was so cute I wanted to save it but it is a little big to go into a scrap book. So... I copied it into word, found a cute kid handwriting font, printed it out and there you have it... in the scrap book and DONE! You can see it to if you would like by clicking on this link and downloading it.
It's actually quite entertaining, but then I and biased!

Jazzed

Tim and Tucker were able to go see the Jazz game last night against the San Antonio Spurs. Tim asked Tuck "if you could pick one thing to do what would it be?" and right off he said go to the Jazz game, I don't think he even knew they were playing! He was sooo excited.
