Play Ball
Here's the kiddies on the little train ride.
What kid doesn't LOVE characters?oh wait I know a few.... but my kids love 'em especially Porter he wouldn't leave the poor "B" alone!
One of many more pics
Porter eating some peanuts, the boys just loved their bag of nuts to crack open and eat, who knew it could be so much fun. I didn't I just think it's a mess! oh dear there's the no fun mom in me again.
And the BEST part of the night if you ask Mr. T was captured in this next photo.Tucker kept asking Tim alllllll the time leading up to the game. So dad do you think I'm going to get to catch a ball? UH what are the odds right? And the seats we were in were not ideal for catching a ball. But Tuck kept his mitt on ALL night ready to catch. He was antsy any time we weren't in our seats, he might miss a chance. Anyway he did not catch a ball..... but they were having kid safety that night and at the end they let all the kids run around the bases. So we waited in line FOREVER (it was either that or wait in traffic, a no brainer) So as we walked onto the field for our turn to run Tucker noticed a ball down in the pit area where the players wait. "And said hey dad look there's a ball" just as he said this a ball boy or bat boy or whatever they call them was walking by. He picked up the ball and threw it to Tucker. OH MY could you make a 7 yr old any happier than that? He was smiling from ear to ear!!!!!! He got his beloved ball from the game.
Dinosaur
Isn't he scary!!! He is sooo excited about his new costume, not that he knows anything about Halloween. He's just happy to have a new dinosaur/dragon/butterfly costume. He called it a dinosaur butterfly since it had wings, that sure got a laugh out of me!!! They are on sale right now at Navy!!!

Last day of Summer
We decided we HAD to do something out of the norm and fun so we went mini golfng. SO MUCH FUN!!!!! Tim and I finally realized that if we went first we could really play a real game and then let the kids do what they did behind us. It was almost like a date, almost...... besides the few mishaps or adventures that children bring along with them.
Here's a pic of all the kiddies. Tiger Woods they are NOT!!! Although Tuck really does try to play right, it's so fun to watch him.

Here's on of our little Pro. If you click on the pic to enlarge it and zoom in you'll see his tongue sticking out in pure concentration. Just like his mom, and both g'pa's. He also had a ball go in the water, and for once it was NOT becuase he was messing around. If I hadn't seen it I wouldn't have believed it. it bounced through a house and out of it and splashed right on it.

Now this is a good story!!! There was a tunnel that you played through and there were also little peep holes into the hollow inside of the tunnel. Well as any good 3-yr old would do Porter threw his golf ball in through one of the holes!!! And then proceeded to cry when he realized it was gone. Well fortunately or unfortunately (depending on the moment and who you ask) Tim picked up Porter and put him right through the hole. He screamed!!!!! Tim told him daddy's got ya go get your ball. Well I ran to the other hole to see if I could capture the moment and it worked!!! YEAH!!! He ran back to daddy soooo fast after getting his ball. Needless to say he was a bit more careful with it after that.
Here is the tunnel with Abbey striking a pose. She was constantly requesting photo shoots!!!

Attack
WARNING not the most exciting post
things to be thankful for
1. nebulizer
2. blessings
3. left over steroids
4. air purifier
5. humidifier ( with all those "iers" in her room it was quite noisy)
6. AC
7. Calm husband
8. little girl safe and sound and currently sleeping well!!!!
So with that lovely smoke from the Draper fire our cute little Abbey had her first asthma attack. Well at least that's what we are attributing it to. It was pretty crazy! She showed now symptoms except a slight runny nose just before bed ( which I didn't even know could be a symptom of an oncoming attack) but both Tim and Porter have had a slight cold so I didn't think anything of it.
About 11 I heard the lovely cough that every parent fears to hear from their child whether they have asthma or not. When I got in there she was freaking out. Now that it's over I can compare it to someone drowning. Not a fun thing. So did I stay calm... nope... well not too bad but it took me a minute to realize DUH use the nebulizer that's all the Dr.s would do. She fought it and was so out of it, I don't think she ever really woke up for the first 2 times around. About an hour later we were doing it again. So Tim set me up to sleep in her room, or should i say lay in her room. When she woke up yet again soon after that he came down the hall to check on us and gave her a blessing. She still had a rough night even after that but it was much better. She and i enjoyed watching cartoons from 3-5 AM it was fabulous, but she was much better and that's all that mattered.
When she did wake up this morning i just watched to see how she was doing and she was bouncing off the walls, but hey who wouldn't be if they were on steroids, so I drove her to school and then picked her up again. The buses and open windows didn't sound to good of an idea for her. She hated not being able to go outside today. And tonight it smells worse than it was been, hopefully her body will get better and so will the air quality.
Sorry for such a humdrum post! I wanted to do fun ones with pics last night while I was up with her but my connection was bad :( hopefully soon!

Abbey's first day
Tucker's first day of second grade
And a pic of the back of his shirt, he's been waiting and waiting to wear this shirt ever since we got it! He has even come out with the whole outfit on to show us a few times :)
The night before the first day of school Tim gave ALL the kids a blessing. It was so nice and I'm so thankful for having that in my home. There were things said that I wouldn't even have thought of and were a nice comfort. Thursday, August 21, 2008
Abbey's second tooth
After losing her first tooth and realizing it doesn't hurt to bad Abbey decided she was brave enough to try out the string on a door knob. So Tim hooked her up and we let our spring loaded door do the rest. Well the string just came off. We tried so many times and nothing.

Abbey wanted to get it out so bad she didn't want to give up. The rest of us were starting to give up.

Finally we realized she should stand on a chair (okay it was my idea) And voila that did the trick. She didn't even know it worked, it hadn't worked so many times that she thought it didn't work again.

I've been tagged!
Dani tagged me and I didn't even know for awhile cuz I hadn't had time to read her whole blog yet, so here we go.....
What were you doing five years ago?
I had 2 toddlers, Tucker 2 (almost 3) and Abbey almost 1. I'm relatively sure that we were doing some kind of remodeling on our old house in North Ogden. And helping Tim finish off his last year of school. Wow how pathetic is that that I can't remember that well?
What were you doing ten years ago?
Tim and I had just been married in Feb. and were getting ready to buy our first house. A major fixer upper complete with the 70's thing going for it. But it was worth all the hard work we put into it and definitely a whole NEW house when we were done with it. And like my mom always said "once you finish it you'll move" and she was right!
Snacks you like: chips & salsa, Dr. Pepper, cheese & crackers, IKEA chocolate, hot tamales, & doughnuts (my sweet hubby took me to Kholer's the other night just to get me some). I love salty snacks!
5 places you have lived:
1. Logan, UT
2. South Weber, UT
3. North Ogden, Ut
4. Lehi, UT
5. Lehi, UT
5 jobs you've had:
1. Sew-N-Save
2. Davis Park Cafe
3. Zions bank
4. Manager of Prometric Testing Center
5. MOM
5 things on your "to do" list:
1. laundry
2. tackle all those boxes in the basement!!! and either chuck it or write down what's in it
3. finish Porter's dino quilt
4. scrapbook (just cuz I want too)
5. did I mention laundry?
If I were suddenly a billionaire I would...I can't tell you the answer to this cuz then it wouldn't be a surprise.... well okay since it will never happen. Send my parents on a mission, pay off every ones houses anonymously. Buy my mom a lavender VW bug just cuz she would be so cute in it. Education for my kids and cousins. Pay someone to do the LAUNDRY!
5 things people might not know about me
1. I have an obsession with buying paper (okay a few of you know that)
2. I'm a computer nerd, well not a huge one, but I can often fix my own and have even built my own computer in the past, and if Tim brings home a new part for my desk top I usually put it in. I'm his mom's personal to go person :)
3. I've know Tim since I was 16, and never kissed him till I was 20. (okay that was a lame one but apparently I'm an open book people and not to exciting of one either)
4. I really can be shy, I know all of you that know me don't believe this, but when I'm out of my comfort zone this is soooo true, which is to often these days.
5. I love being outside with my kids and a good book, too bad I get caught up in the humdrum of everyday life to often to remember to do it.
I 'm supposed to tag other people....Brooke, Emily, & Tracey.

4th of July
I know July is almost over and I'm just now doing the 4th, I can't believe I skipped over it. It's one of my families FAVORITE holiday. I guess we partied so much I was to worn out to post about it. We actually stayed 2 nights up at my parents house and it was a party from the get go. FOOD FAMILY FRIENDS. What more do you need? not much except maybe more FOOD!!!! everything seemed to revovle around food, not a problem!!! After the parade we walked behind the city building to a park and had lunch, it was perfect we didn't have to fight the traffic and the kids played football and baseball. And Porter played puppy with my brother dog, it was hilarious, the people next to us thought we were just weird!!! Porter and the dog each had a plate and were drinking their water. Oh and did I mention SLURPEES!!! another of our fun things of the 4th, but that store is packed that day, I wonder if it's their busiest day of the year?
The fireworks were great!!! My only complaint was that not everyone stood up for the national anthem, that made me a little sad. I just love our country and I'm so greatful to live here. It makes me sad that so many of us are forgetting the little things that make or should I say helped to make this country so great.
All in all it was a fabulous weekend. They even had free bounce toys on the other side of the high school, next year we are going even earlier to play on them more, they were so fun!!! Big enough for adults to go on too!!!!
