Princess Power

Last Friday I went to check on Abbey and her "girlfriends" and this is what I saw. 2 little girls with wings jumping while the other 2 watched, followed by Abbey announcing "okay fairies done now it's time for the princesses." It was priceless and the squeals of laughter? oh my! I think the pictures pretty much speak for themselves.

Babies

Here are some pics of my sisters' baby and my baby, I think I'm only able to call him that for 11 more days. He will be 3 on the 24th =( It's just doesn't seem possible to me! Daisy just turned one on the 11th, she's sooo cute, Porter enjoyed picking on her while we visited. I mean that literally, he was a stinker.

Hair-be-gone

So while I was up visiting family my nieces wanted to cut their hair off. One of them had enough for locks of love and the other just wanted too. So we did it! Abbey wanted her's cut too of course and since she's been asking on and off for awhile we went ahead and wacked it. They all looked so cute! We forgot to get a picture of all 3 together after it was done =( oh well. Here are the before and after pics.

I had to cut the back of Abbey's hair again the next morning. Her hair is soooo thick and she is 5. Not a good combination when you are trying to get a stacked look to lay nicely. It looks much better curled under that's for sure!

Skylee spent the next few days constantly looking in the mirror and playing with her hair, it was cute to watch her.

A trip to Grandma's and Grandpa's (home now)

The kids and I decided to take a mini trip to my parents house. I know it's only 45-50 min. away but it's summer and cousins live near by and with gas prices... we thought we'd take a few days and just have fun.

We started our adventure on Monday night by picking up g'ma and g'pa at the airport. Their flight was supposed to leave Denver at 5:22 which incidentally was when I thought they were getting to SLC. So by the time we got them at 9:10 since their flight had been delayed our kids were hyper to the gills and beyond excited. They had been so grouchy at home WAITING to go. I finally told them that mom was having a time out just to get away from them :).

They all talked a mile a minute on the ride home, even Abbey, which if you know her well takes FOREVER to warm up most of the time. She told me she was going to be nice this time and WOW she didn't stop.

Porter wanted to watch Yightneen Queen as soon as we got there which was a NO. It was time for bed, so he grabbed the toy car and brought it to be with him. Well at about 5:30 AM both Porter and his car were up and raring to go. AHHHHH this kid never does this. I heard him over there in bed saying. Abbey ni-night, Tucker ni-night, Mama ni-night, Porter awake. And awake he was, not even snuggling in my bed worked. So I figured I should get up with him before he woke up the rest of the house, especially g'ma and g'pa.

Well we were not the only guests I soon realized as I turned on a show for the little guy (CARS if you didn't guess) I could hear a bunch of banging and rustling above my head, and my parents have a rambler which means whatever it was was in the attic. I then remembered my dad barricading it from raccoons recently that they could hear in their bedroom, well I doubt he'll be very excited when he wakes up and I tell him they have moved to the family room.

Well that's it for our little mini trip so far considering I should still be asleep like everyone else. Gotta love those cute excited minds right?

BASEBALL

Today was Tuckers first ball game, he was beyond excited!!! He did however try to sleep in

so he could "have his strength." I wouldn't call 7:30 sleeping in.... but that's just me. All morning it was "is it time to go yet?" it was the same for his first practice. I'm hoping it will lessen the more he plays but I really doubt. (if you look closely at the pictures you'll see he has his tongue sticking out.)

The other team only had 5 players show, do to weather I assume, so they played a bit different and just let everyone rotate through. Not that there was much of an order or anything but it's all just for fun and to teach the kids the basics anyway.

He did get a few hitters in and Tim said he got clocked in the jaw once when he was up at bat. But for a kid who's never played before and seems slightly nervous about a white ball flying at his face I think he did great! He has a great arm on him! He wants to be able to catch it while it's still very far away from his face, he must get that from his mother. He is more than willing to slide into a base if needed which he definitely doesn't get from me.

After his game he asked if we were going to go celebrate. Wow did he think this day was HUGE. Abbey and Porter were content to play at the playground during the game. So I spent most of the time running back and frorth between the sidelines of the field and making sure Porter didn't need a third set of stitches. (I don't know if you can see from the pics but this climbing thing is pretty high up!) I had been to the Dr. twice already this week and didn't want to go again. However that was not to be avoided. This time it was Abbey's turn to go. She has had a cough (so have all the alergy people at our house) and last night it was pretty bad so I gave her some albuterol which seemed to help. But this morning she said "mom remember you said if I didn't feel better you'd take me to the Dr.?" she also asked " do you think the Dr. will be able to help us?" Well by half way through the game I knew the next stop was defintely going to be the Dr.'s office. Abbey had climbed in the stroller to lay down because she was tired. At 10:30 in the morning!!!!

Porter didn't want any help on this crazy thing and he wouldn't stay off of it! So I would just stand near by with my hands under him in case. He only halfway fell once and that was after that cute pic of him and Abbey. He turned that way just after I had taken a picture and asked to "see Porter" and of course I took another since it was so cute! As I helped him move back he slipped a bit but it didn't make him want to stay off that's for sure. It was incredible how good he was at it for such a little guy. (I took this last picture just to freek out the Grandma's)

Tim and the boys dropped Abbey and I off at the Dr.'s office while they and took the car to get inspected. Long story short, she wasn't getting enough air at all. Her blood oxygen level was 86. I nearly started to cry as I saw that number, the levels need to be between 95-100. Needless to say I was glad we were there. He decided that they would do a treatment (nebulizer) and if it didn't help alot then do chest x-rays. The next time her level bounced between 90-92 and she sounded much better to him. So he gave us some steroids and more asthma meds and we wer off. She hasn't needed this kind of stuff since 2 summers ago just before she had her tonsils out. She is feeling much better tonight but she also knew when she needed another treetment. And we got her to bed early.

Sprinklers

one day the neighbors sprinklers were on while Porter was scooting about and he LOVED it, he got so wet his pants wouldn't stay up!

Last day of school

.The kids and I went to Cabella's to watch the fish get fed, it was fun.

We also went up to the shooting range, they liked that the best. Porter didn't know what to think. He loved going in the museum area and making the guy talk. He stood on the bench forever pushing the button over and over thinking he had made the best discovery in the world!

Blahs

So today I feel like crap! There is an upside though... My Tucker sure enjoys taking care of people. I heard him in the kitchen and thought Oh great a mess.... well then he walks into my room with some toast. So sweet! And he got "the kids" cereal for breakfast. "mom you don't have to worry about feeding the kids breakfast." My tummy is just all rumbly and yucky. (And no I'm not pregnant for anyone who is wondering.) Another plus is he is not arguing about anything I ask or tell him today. I said "do I need to be sick everyday so you won't argue with me?" I think it made him think, a little :) he is only 7 but such a sweet heart.

I was so excited to get a lot done today, it was going to be the first day this week with nothing going on, oh well it will all still be there tomorrow that's for sure!

Yesturday I took Porter for a speech evaluation (which he doesn't qualify for anymore) and then I saw a huge rash all over his torso. And his breathe reaked! Great I thought strep. So I'm thinking how I've probably contaminater 2 more homes since the big kids were at friends houses. So I have great friends who said take as long as you need and I took him to the reg. Dr. on the way home. He ran a strep test twice! He couldn't beleive it was negative. But his little tonsils were HUGE so he gave him a prescription anyway. Just glad we didn't have strep to share.

Okay that was about the most boring post EVER but life isn't always "cute"

ME : Why? (this is full of Abbey logic I can just feel it coming!)

Tucker: When is Grandma going to die?

Tucker: well she's in her 60's. Most people are dead by then.



oH kids are so great aren't they? they keep you laughing that's for sure!!!
Today the kids did their jobs so well!!! Whoa the meanness has paid off! Then we went out to play, since there is no backyard I "get" to go with them or at least keep bobbing back outside every second. So today I decided to finally clean out the van while they played. It took forever but it looks soooo nice almost as nice as when we bought it! Perfect for starting summer off. I would've let the kids help wash the outside but it's going to rain tomorrow anyway and I had an appointment for Tucker to have physical therapy. He has a spasming muscle in his neck and he's all kinked to one side. poor kid, the therapy seemed to help and he has stretches to do at home until we got back.
That sums up our day I think and the weirdest part was ALL of our kids were in bed earlier than they would have been during the school year, so weird but they were tired and willing and we weren't about to stop them!

Summer fun?

Well summer is here and my kids are busy.....cleaning! YES its true, they both got in trouble yesturday (for various reasons) so no friends for today and I thought WOW helpers!!! I think they have learned, I have a cleaner house, we ran errands and the day is still not over!!!
We did go to the library and get some books so that was something FUN they got to do. I guess I should have taken pics of the "slave labor" but I didn't think of it.
